news, short films, commercials, promo videos, music videos & travel videos
I am back at my last year at university now, and are on my way making one of my graduation films. A hopefully cool and interesting music video. But I will be back to that later.
What I want to talk about now is the film I made winter/spring 2011, “Room 311”. A short film about the hotel cleaner Alfredo that find two girls dead in room 311 at the hotel. Here I played around with different formats and film styles.
This summer I sent it out to it´s first film festivals and The Gadabout Traveling Film Festival soon send me a mail regarding the film:
The Gadabout film fest is excited to inform you that your film Room 311 has been accepted into our 10th Annual Gadabout Film Festival celebration. Please feel free to let folks know that your film will be screened here in Bloomington, IN on October 8th and 9th.
Inspired by the DIY music scene, The Gadabout started as an answer to the more commercial, pretentious film festivals. We bought a van, got a projector, screen, and PA, and took a program of short films out on the road. We screened in basements, art houses, music venues, collective spaces, warehouses, parking lots, Micro-cinemas, parks, etc.
To celebrate 10 years of traveling around, we are planning a weekend festival with over 100 short films. Screening all new programs of narrative shorts, animation, music videos, foreign films, and more, as well as older Gadabout programs and a best of selection from our local movie challenge.
So on the 9th of October “Room 311” was screened in the category Foreign Films in Bishop Bar Bloomington Indiana. I hope the people that came to watch it enjoyed it! And now you that are reading this post can enjoy it as well:
