British Student Film Festival

For about a week ago I sent my films “Room 311“, “Every Me“, “Sumoun” and “End of Story” to British Student Film Festival in London, UK. Today I got a really nice mail from them.

“Dear Siri,
Thank you very much for your submissions to the British Student Film Festival 2012. We have received your films and confirmed payment. We’re very much looking forward to meeting you in April 2012 at the festival.
Best wishes,
British Student Film Festival Team”

So if you are in London in April 2012 have a look at the British Student Film Festival and get the chance to see my films and many other films on the big screen. This is what they say about themself:

“We seek to stress the poetic vision and creativity inherent in every student, exhibited in this festival through film work.
We hope to not only help those filmmakers with a desire to enter the industry as a career but also to demonstrate the creativity and vision in each student. As an inclusive festival we aim to undermine any false standards to which their creativity has previously been held – we will not grade their vision. Awards will be provided for films which are exemplary in their execution, but the festival and our board of patrons defend the creative vision of each student filmmaker as unique and unquantifiable. (britishstudentfilm.co.uk)”

All films that are sent in will be screened at the festival. So in that way it is maybe not a achievement to get your film in to the festival, but they do have something called  the ‘Jury’s Choice’ shortlisted films. Since the submissions will close 31st January, I guess the shortlisting can´t start before after that. So until then let´s just hope for the best.
